This page is about the Menu SETTINGS -> PROPERTIES -> ROOMS -> DEPENDENCIES
You can make a room only be available when another room is also available.
Room Availability: This setting is useful if for example this is a suite that is composed of this and an adjoining room or you are offering a more exclusive occupancy (at higher price?) when another room is unoccupied. A booking for this room will block the other room for the duration of the booking.
Requires Availability in: Defines the other second room which has to be available.
Combination Logic: And logic means both rooms must be available Or logic means at least one of the rooms must be available.
Bookings Dependency: Bookings in the selected room will be included in this room for the purpose of calculating the availability of this room.
Alternatively you can use:
Assign Bookings to: By default web bookings for a room will be assigned to the selected room. It can be manually assigned to a different room. If assigned to a different room the booking will be assigned there without further checking availability in the assigned room.
Assign a Copy Booking to: A copy of the booking can be placed in another room. This can be used to control availability in dependant and linked rooms.
Example 1
A room can be sold either as a double or a twin. The booking page shows two rooms - double and twin:
- Create two rooms in SETTINGS -> PROPERTIES-> ROOMS
Got to SETTINGS->PROPERTIES->ROOMS->DEPENDENCIES and set:
- For the double set following "Requires Availability in": twin
- For the twin set "Requires Availability in": double
Leave all other settings set to default.
Example 2 A villa is set up in two different properties. One offers the villa as accommodation (the room name is villa only) only the other one offers the villa as part of a package (the room name is package).
As it is the same villa a booking for the "package" will make the "villa only" unavailable and vice versa.
To achieve this set following dependencies in SETTINGS->PROPERTIES->ROOMS->DEPENDENCIES for the room "package":
- "Requires Availability in": villa only
- "Assign Bookings to" = this room
- "Assign a Copy Booking to" = villa only
Leave all other settings set to default.
Note: If you are using dependencies please test thoroughly to make sure your set up reflects your rules.
