We are getting ready for Google Hotel Ads

1 Who can use Google Hotel Ads?

To qualify for this service your property must provide a staffed reception desk.

2 How it works

Set the commission you are prepared to pay for bookings direct from Google hotel ads.

If your commission bid is competitive, Google will provide a link to your direct booking page in their search results.

You only pay commission for confirmed bookings resulting from the search result, not pay per click etc.

3 Who can use Google Hotel Ads

Googles guidelines are that the property should have the following:

  • Rooms in which paying guests can stay
  • A physical presence and fixed location that is open to the public
  • A staffed front desk open during normal business hours
  • A minimum stay requirement of no greater than 7 days

4 Preparation

Before using the service Google must map your property, to start the mapping process, set the desired room types to Notify and we will send your property data to Google.

Properties can be matched now so bidding can start as soon as we go live. It may take Google a few weeks to complete the property matching.

The Notify setting is a free link (no charge) in the channel manager.

5 What to do

1. Go to SETTINGS-PROPERTIES-DESCRIPTION and check you have entered

  • Property Name
  • City
  • State
  • Postcode
  • Address
  • Country
  • Phone Number
  • Latitude 'Latitude' and 'Longitude' have to reflect the actual location of your property.

We can not send you data without this information.

2. Go to SETTINGS->CHANNEL MANAGER->GOOGLE HOTEL ADS and set 'Sycnchronise' = Notify so Google can map you.

6 Bidding

Coming soon, your property must first be mapped before you can bid.

How it works

You bid a commission. Google will display the highest and the next highest bidder direcly in the ad. The four next highest bidders will be shown after the guest clicks on "More".

Commission

Google will charge the commssion you bid on all bookings originating from Google. These bookings have the referrer "Goggle". Google will not refund commissions paid on cancelled bookings. We recommend you use to protect yourself from the risk.

Beds24 will charge the commissions to your Beds24 account instantly when there is a new booking from Google. Currency conversion might be done when your accout is charged.

To bid you will need to have enough credit in your account. When you do not have enough credit in your account all ads will be turnend off. Please note that your account might stop working if you do not have credit in your account. You can set up auto payments in SETTINGS-ACCOUNT BILLING.

Landing page

By default the booking page is opened when a guest click to book on Google. If you want the booking to take place on your embedded booking page on your web site you can set a "Booking Redirect" to this page in SETTINGS->PROPERTIES->LINK.

NOTE: You can not use any other site on your website than then one with your booking page embedded.

Choose a group of rooms

The rooms you are sending to Google (most economic double room) sell priority in SETTINGS-PROPERTIES-ROOMS-SETUP should be set to highest so it is at the top of the booking page. Dorms are not allowed.

Note: Send your most economic double room to Google. This has to be a private room. Google does not allow dorms.

No. Our fees are covered with the settlement fee.

Google will charge the commssion you bid on all bookings originating from Google. These bookings have the referrer "Goggle".

7.9 How does Google know when a booking comes from Google Hotel Ads?

Google leaves a cookie in the user’s browser. If this user carries out a booking while the cookie is still active, t

he conversion code installed in the engine is executed and the booking is “assigned” to GHACP.

The cookie has a duration between 1 and 30 days. This period is called “conversion window”. At i, we start operating with a conversion window of 1 day and we optimise its duration with the development of the campaigns.

7.10 What happens with cancellations, modifications and no-shows?

Google will not refund commissions paid on cancelled bookings. We recommend you use to protect yourself from the risk.

Booking modifications: in the monthly review, if you note a booking modification, Mirai will report it to Google and you will be charged the commission of the modified value. Remember that you have 10 days to review your bookings. After this period of time, Google will charge the commissions that correspond to your non-cancelled bookings. Will I see the GHACP bookings in Google Analytics? Yes, you can see the bookings indicated with the source “hotelfinder”, medium “CPA”. Also, Google can also charge another booking that you see from another source medium in Analytics if it previously had a GHACP click within the conversion window.

Google will display the highest and the next highest bidder direcly in the ad. The four next highest bidders will be shown after the guest clicks on "More".
