Dorms on Airbnb
This page explains how setup your property in Beds24 to sell DORMS in Airbnb.com
Airbnb supports dorms. We can send inventory/how many beds are available.
Setup
You have a room type (dorm) with multiple individual beds (Unit Allocation = one per guest). You also want to sell them on Airbnb.com or other channel that requires a bed/unit.
It is assumed you already have setup the room type with the number of beds, if not, create this first. See the details of how to setup dorms.
Limitations
If it appears that Airbnb see your units as rooms and therefore are allowing 6 people to book each of the 6 beds.
Try changing your setup to Max guests = 1.
Then as far as Airbnb is concerned, each bed is one listing and can only be booked by one person, you have 6 of these one person beds and we tell Airbnb how many beds are available..
As it is a bed for one person, only one person can book it, i.e. if a group wants more beds, each person will need to book their own bed. It is not possible to choose 2 or more people when booking because Airbnb will put them all in the same bed which is what can cause the overbooking.
It might be useful to give an instruction in your description that each guest needs to book individually because some guests might not understand this.
Unfortunately Airbnb is not really good at having beds in a shared dorm room but this is the best way we can set it up.
Common Errors
This listing's property type does not support multiple inventories. OR room_type_inventory_not_supported Check (SETTINGS) PROPERTIES > DESCRIPTION > 'Property Type" and the 'Listing Type' match with the 'Property Type Group' you have selected in (SETTINGS) CHANNEL MANAGER > AIRBNB > SPECIFIC CONTENT. Check the (?) for Property Type Group for the correct Listing Type for each group. *If (SETTINGS) CHANNEL MANAGER > AIRBNB > MAPPING > Sync Type = Prices & Availability, then you need to ensure the setup in Airbnb meets the Listing Type/Property Type Group. *Otherwise change the Sync type = Everything to update from Beds24.
