This page explains how to create a virtual roomtype with multiple rooms from individual rooms.

Example: You have 3 real rooms all updated individually at a channel like Airbnb. You also want to sell them on Booking.com or other channel but they require a "roomtype" with a quantity of 3.

Create a new virtual room type with a quantity of 3 in SETTINGS -> PROPERTIES-> ROOMS->SETUP

Virtual room

Go to SETTINGS->PROPERTIES->ROOMS->SETUP and set the virtual room to have the same characteristics of your individual rooms. Set:

  • Sell Priority = Hide (to not show the virtual room type on your own booking page
  • Overbooking Protection =Property

Go to SETTINGS->PROPERTIES->ROOMS->DEPENDENCIES and use the following settings for the virtual room:

  • Requires Availability in = Room 1 or Room 2 or Room 3
  • Combination Logic = Sum of all bookings
  • Dependency Level = Ignore Sub Dependencies
  • Use Prices From =Room 1 (to use the prices from room 1, alternatively you can use "This Room" and create individual rates for the virtual roomtype)
  • Assign Bookings to = First Available Dependency Room

If you want the bookings in your virtual room you can use the "Include Bookings from" setting. This will mirror the booking from the "real" rooms. Please note that the unit allocation within the 3 units of the virtual room will not work in this case.

Real rooms

  • Do not set any "Availability Dependency". Leave "Assign Bookings" set to "This Room" (the default).
NOTE: If you manually add a booking you need to do this in the "real" rooms not in the virtual room.
