Mailchimp

To use this service you will need an account with Mailchimp

For Beds24 the normal channel manger fees apply.

1 Capabilities

Beds24 can send guest names, E-mail addresses, language and booking number to Mailchimp.

2 Limitations

3 Set Up

3.1 Mailchimp

  • Log into Mailchimp.
  • Go to ACCOUNT-EXTRAS-API KEYS and create an API Key.
  • Go to AUDIENCE->MANAGE AUDIENCE->SETTINGS and get the "unique ID" of the audience you want to send to.

3.2 Beds24

Go to (SETTINGS) GUEST MANAGEMENT > AUTO ACTIONS

  • Set up an Auto Action to select the bookings which will be sent to Mailchimp. Set "Trigger Action" = automatic.

Go to (SETTINGS)APPS & INTEGRATION > MAILCHIMP

  • Select the auto action id from the drop down list - Auto Action to specify bookings to send
  • Enter the Mailchimp API key
  • Enter the Mailchimp list ID (without the . at the end)
  • Tick the rooms for which you want to send bookings. Only bookings from rooms enabled for Mailchimp and which meet the trigger conditions in the Auto Action will be sent.

3.3 Newsletter opt-in

In (SETTINGS) PROPERTIES > BOOKING QUESTIONS you can add a custom booking questions (compulsory tick box).

If required you can add a link to your privacy policy

4 How it works

Bookings are sent from Beds24 to Mailchimp when the room is enabled, the booking has an email address and the booking meets the trigger condition in the selected auto action. If the Email address changes you will need to update it manualy in Mailchimp.

5 Data

The booking data sent to Mailchimp is:

  • email address
  • first name
  • last name
  • booking ID
  • guest language (when a 2 character language code is defined)

6 Common Problems

7 Disconnect

  • Untick "Bookings" to stop sending bookings.
  • In Mailchimp oo to ACCOUNT-EXTRAS-API KEYS and deactivate the API Key.
